2021 graduate from York University and Sheridan College's YSDN program with a Bachelor of Design with Honours degree and proud Provisional RGD, Elyssa is currently working as a freelance Graphic Designer with Green Living Enterprises in Toronto, Canada and is a member of RGD's education committee. She aims to bring accessibility to the forefront of her designs whenever possible. While most of her work pertains to marketing materials and motion animation, Elyssa hopes to branch out into 3D design. She has a passion for animation, branding, interaction design, and understanding user experience.
In the Student Awards hosted by RGD, Elyssa received an honorable mention for her project Broadway Play for the Quake Award for Creative Innovation (2021). In her free time, she enjoys playing video games with her friends as well as volunteering with RGD's Designathons where small groups of students and recent graduates come together in a 12 hour design sprint for non-profit organizations in Canada. On the occasion that a long weekend arrives, you can catch her on a bus back home to Kingston to visit the family dog, Gracie.
Creating and designing various client projects such as brand identities, report booklets, campaigns and much more. Her work at Green Living has a strong focus on accessibility, ensuring all public-facing PDFs are AODA compliant, as well as being environmentally and socially responsible.
Creating and designing graphics for various partner campaigns, as well as in-house marketing materials including social media posts, GIF stickers, presentation slides, animations, large seasonal campaigns and much more. Performed a basic accessibility audit on the SPC website to inform the product team of areas of improvement with suggestions on how to address issues in terms of accessibility and SEO by creating a list of high-priority, low-priority, and quick tasks to be efficient with the strategy going forward.
Working as a designer for the AMPD faculty at York university, designing for the AMPD Instagram, website, newsletter as well as working on special projects for different programs under the faculty.
Working on designing various assets for the first virtual frosh event for Winters College at York University. Duties included creating Instagram filters, posts, stories, and managing the account, Website design, photography, and many more.
12-hour event working alongside design students, recent grads, and a senior professional. Projects included a logo for the Assaulted Women Helpline's Senior Safety Line, UI design for non-profit organization SIS and logo design for the Ontario Society for Environmental Education.
